House Bill 117 just passed the Senate Consumer Affairs Committee. The committee chose to remove the increase in the second degree murder statute of limitations. The committee did not remove changing the statute of limitation for conspiracy and tampering with evidence (shall follow the statute of limitation for the underlying crime). Sometimes the legislature takes baby steps. This legislation is now sent to the Senate Judiciary Committee .
