HB 224 Data breach legislation

NM is one of four states that does not require a company who loses our personal information to contact the consumer. This legislation requires the company to contact and work with the State Attorney General on the notification or face civil penalties. Tonight this legislation passed the House Judiciary Committee and is on its way to the House floor for a vote.
